Rona spent twenty years in education, working in six local authorities in an array of roles which included a full range of responsibilities across all facets of school leadership and management.
Whilst working full time, Rona completed a Masters in Educational Disadvantage and SEN and a Doctorate in Education at The University of Birmingham. She holds the National Professional Qualification for School Leadership and the Professional Qualification for School Inspectors, conducting Ofsted inspections in the secondary school sector.
In 2013, Rona was appointed as the founding Principal of Lincoln UTC and opened the new 14-19 college, specialising in Science and Engineering. Her work focused on the holistic development of students in academic, technical and personal aspects.
Rona returned to university in January 2017 to complete an MBA prior to moving into industry. She is now Chief Operating Officer for a luxury jewellery company, and is developing a new business to combine her education and leadership skills and apply them in the utilisation of new technologies.
In her spare time, Rona is Chair of Zest Theatre Company and a NED for YMCA Lincolnshire. A keen sportswoman and mountaineer, she recently trekked over 6000m in India and Tanzania and hopes to scale Mount Elbrus and Aconcagua as part of the world-breaking 5.8 Global Adventure…in 2021…or 2022…who knows now!

In 2020 the notion of ‘normal working practices’ changed dramatically for many. This talk will explore the impact on interpersonal communication and employee wellbeing. It will identify some aspects business leaders may need to focus on to support individual employees and teams to work, collaborate and develop effectively, wherever they are located.
